On Monday, our latest coffee offerings got tossed into the roaster, and on Tuesday, after they had rested a bit, we started brewing.
I tell you what, we were not disappointed either. It has been a while since we had a great Kenyan in the shop, and the Kenya Kiambu was stellar. But what really got us excited was the microlot that came in from Honduras. Esteban Madrid is the name of the coffee and it is lovely.
Honduras, though Central Americas largest coffee producer has not been known for great quality. Often producers buy up whatever they can get, good or bad, just to make a profit, but recently big strides have been made to increase quality. This coffee delivered to us incredible floral delicacy with its syrupy body and kept us wanting more.
We are planning to carry these coffees for a while, and we hope you get a chance to try them, but with quality this high, there is no guarantee it will last as long as we have planned, so the sooner you get it, the better.
