What You’ll Need:
50g Whole Bean Coffee
750g Filtered Water
Chemex Paper Filter
Coffee Grinder set to Medium-Coarse
Bring your water to a boil and remove from heat. Wait for at least a minute before brewing to allow water time to cool to around 200.F. Place filter in Chemex with the 3 layered side facing the pouring spout. Thoroughly rinse your filter with hot water to remove the papery taste and preheat your Chemex. Discard the water without removing the paper filter.
Weigh coffee and grind.
Place ground coffee into your paper filter, making sure it is evenly distributed.
Slowly pour in 100g of water to allow the coffee to bloom.
Let this take place for 30 to 45 seconds, until the bloom settles.
After the bloom settles slowly begin pouring your water in a circular motion in the center about 1 inch in diameter. Make sure not to pour to quickly and overfill your Chemex. Occasionally stopping your pour may be necessary to allow some of you water to drain. When your scale reaches 750g you are finished.
Once your coffee comes to a slow drip, discard your filter and serve.
